Title: 2017/18 Winter series
Post by: John Veal on November 19, 2017, 07:34:24 PM
First winter Halifax club round was today, only Ken and I entered. However, 2 is enough for a heat here. Very cold and track was v slippy with frost and moss, but both RG nitros managed quite well with GRP R1 tyres and 4 or 5 wheel weights each wheel.

Next dates are;
Rd2 December 17
Rd3 January 21
Rd4 February 18
Rd5 March 18.

All bikes welcome, usually 3 qualy rounds @ 5 min, plus 1 x 10 min final. 7 for club members, 10 for non members.

Tempting John, I would love to race nitro over the wintertime.

Shame its a long trip for me, task is to get used to Fred's KP10 for next season.

JJ - Does that mean Team Superblade has had a chassis upgrade  ;D ;D ;D

Yes, I would consider the KP10 to be newer than the Superblade, and Fred's KP10 is well sorted.

Although the KP10 is an old chassis, Fred has updated the clutch to be like the RG,
moving the main gear inboard, giving more clearance. It also has belt drive.

I also expect the Picco motor will be more powerfull than the Superblade's Kyosho go kart motor

First bike for me with two brakes, so will have to get used to mixing the front brake.

I am fitting my radio gear and will be able to have a test run soon.

I plan to be running in the Nitro class next season, Steve are you interested in the "senior mechanic" position ?
