Bedworth summer series
« on: January 14, 2009, 04:32:56 PM »
Bedworth have a summer series for electric cars only, over 10 rounds with 6 to count, and have extended an invitation to the 1/8th bikes to form a heat or two as well.

We should have enough numbers to form a stock heat and a modified open heat seperatly, wouldn't that be cool.

Two of the dates clash with BRCA 1/5th Natinals, but that still leaves 8 rounds so you can drop 2.
There are FTD vouchers for the top three in each class, and trophies etc.

April   5th   26th
May   10th  24th
June  14th        (Cotswold BRCA)
July   5th    19th
August 9th  23rd
September 13th  (Skipton BRCA)

Booking In Closes:- 9.30am   Racing starts:- 9.45am

Race Fees:
6.50 Pre Pay
7.50 On The Day

Car classes for 1/10th electric touring and 1/14th Recoil/Charisma

Bedworth summer series

Just a reminder.....

The Bedworth Summer series starts April 5th, there are ten rounds, with just 6 to count, and only two clash with BRCA 1/5th bike nationals so it should be possible for lots of us to take part in this multi formula series and give the little bikes a regular run out, all together.

See you there, or be square!

There is a poll on the bedworth site, seeing what sort of numbers they might expect, I've added my click to the 1/8th bikes, the more that do the more they'll take notice, so take the time to click this and add your support please guys!

What a great day at Bedworth, a grid of 5 mardave sidecars made it extra special, and set all new 4 cell G2 motor spec records for the class which were only a fraction slower than the current 6 cell and 27T motor times, so that looks like the way it will go for sure. Steve Chapman was the only person capable of keeping Chris honest at the front and it was good to see some close battles all around.

Colin shaved a fraction off the Open class race record, while Alan leighton used a Carisma 370 'stock' R14 motor to break the stock lap record by a fraction and race record by a whole 7 seconds. Top Job.

See the new thread on lap and race reocrds for Bedworth.

Good to see Gerald Page and Chris Groom up from the south for a fun day out, along with Mr Mardave of course.

It was the first race day for Rookie Dave Brown who spent the day practising on Saturday before his debut, improving every time out, certainly cutting some good lines and loving every minute of it! Keep it up Dave!!

Ken Dineen gets the award for the longest serving RTR 370 Venom motor, still going strong after all this time, the only one I know of! Cutting some 26.3 sec laps in near box stock form is certain admirable! And much more the pace we should expect from the stock class, whos motors, including the 370P venom replacement motors are way way too fast. Faster than half the open class entries!

The only meeting in June clashes with a 1/5th National at Cotswolds so we 'll be back at Bedworth on the 5th July - though I'll be at the Rock Crawling Nationals so you'll have to have fun without me. I'll be there July 19th though, and twice in August to finish the summer season off.

Just wondering do they or have they ever run 1/5th bikes at Bedworth or is it just for the 1/8th bikes?

We have run 1/5th bikes around bedworth but it's too small and feels like a Stop-Go penalty, can't get a flow going, and you wouldn't want three bikes on track at once.
Perfect or the 1/8th bikes though, have run 10 bike grids no problem, but 6 bikes makes a better race and is easier on the marshals.
