Club Racing 2019
« on: January 04, 2019, 03:02:49 PM »
Not a National topic as such but I can’t fine another suitable section.

Club Racing 2019 is the heading but what I’m trying to gauge is the interest in travelling to attend meetings at venues other than your “home track”.

Personally travelling is a concern, even more so when under normal club day rules I get a maximum of 5 runs of 5 minutes duration. 200 plus miles for 30mins racing!

What are your thoughts?

Due to the lack of national meetings, and possible lack of interest at Aldershot I am considering also becoming a member of Cotswold’s being the next closest track that has active members. That way as a member I will be able to practice on the Saturday stay over night at the pub and race on the Sunday club race. Making the travel more worth while, as well as not having to get up so early on the Sunday to travel over a 100 miles. Having said that, not considering doing any racing until the weather warms up a bit and can gauge the interest at Aldershot.

Cotswold is my next nearest club track, around 420 mile round trip with 8 - 9 hours travelling. Not going to do that for just 30 minutes of racing.
I would go to Bedworth, if there was some club racing going on, but as far as I know no one goes.
So I will definitely stick to Halifax this year and not do an away meeting.

Hi,
I would be up for some club racing at Aldershot (and Hooligans)
In the past we have done a few Saturdays there, which are great fun, unlimited runs etc
It would be great if we could get some racing (or practise/fun days) there, its a good track...

Happy New Year

I agree with John, I wouldn’t travel the distances needed and costs involved to get to other clubs just for 25 mins racing.

I think most people appreciate that we are so thinly spread around the country it is difficult to arrange a meeting other than a National.

However, if we could get more club racing it would be great. It is disappointing to see the lack of activity.

My initial thoughts were to get access to tracks and invite racers from around the country to attend a national type event (Bikes only).

Race time would be approx 55mins per class entered.

Cost would be depending on discussion with the Clubs but hopefully less than we pay now to attend a National.

Its a great idea Roy, but I can't help thinking that as a small group we would be put to the bottom of the pile at best. For a club to lose a free Sunday for minimal money...

However, if you can pull it off, I may be interested in a full day of bikes only.

Hi Darren,
Both Martin and I would also like to do some club days at Aldershot, so we only need 1 more, although enough for 2 heats would be better. I don’t think you use Facebook, so if anything is arranged on Facebook, I will try and make sure it is also posted here.

Hopefully some might be interested

Clubman RC Bike Club Day Event

Do you have an RC Bike?

Is it sat on the shelf?

Why not dust it off, lube the bearings, massage those thumbs and come and join in an event close to you or if you’re really looking to keep that smile on your face travel a little and join in all three events.

The events are open to any scale two wheel bike and sidecars that can be used on a tarmac track, including Supa-Moto.

The event will use RC Timing or similar (please make sure your transponder is compatible).

Race format will generally follow that used at National level but without the Rules. You’ll be glad to know there is only one rule, you must end the day with a smile on your face.

As BRCA members we must comply with “BRCA General Rules” and any local Club Rules.

The initial Clubs who have welcomed us this year are;

Cotswold   13/14th April 2019
Aldershot    15/16th June 2019
Mendip   13/14th July 2019

Whilst all dates are provisional at this stage (I don’t expect any changes), the clubs are enthusiastic to see us at their tracks and we thank all the Club Officials for there help in making this possible.

Put the dates into your diary to make sure you don’t miss out.

All entry details, etc.,  will be issued in the next couple of weeks.

Please find attached entry form for the first Clubman Event at Cotswold on 13/14th April 2019.

If you intend coming to the event it would be appreciated if you could complete the form.

Approximately 4weeks to the first Clubman Event at Cotswold (about time I hear some of you say).
It would be much appreciated if you could let us know if you intend to attend by completing the attached entry form.
